The Review
Go through each area and assess honestly. Not where you’d like to be. Where you are.
Business vs. Job. Is what you’ve built a business or a job? After the system-building work in lessons 63-65, has the answer changed? What functions still depend on you?
Exit Readiness. Could someone buy or take over your business today? What’s changed since your initial assessment? What’s the biggest remaining gap?
Legal Structure. Is your structure appropriate for your ambitions? Did you take action on this, or is it still on the list? If action was taken, where does it stand?
Professional Organizations. Did you engage with an organization this unit? What level of engagement? What’s happened since?
Succession. Do you have a written succession plan? Have you identified successors? Have you started development conversations?
Legacy Orientation. Are you making decisions through the legacy lens? Has the ratio of lasting-to-temporary shifted?
What’s Working
Be specific about progress. Not vague “I’m making progress” — what specifically has changed?
Maybe you built a sales system that’s now generating leads without you. Maybe you had the succession conversation with a key team member. Maybe you joined an organization and already see the networking benefits. Maybe the legacy lens has changed how you prioritize your time.
Name the wins. They’re fuel for the remaining work.
What Needs More
Equally important: what hasn’t happened yet?
Maybe you haven’t taken action on your legal structure. Maybe the system you built doesn’t quite work yet. Maybe you identified successors but haven’t started development. Maybe the daily legacy lens hasn’t become habit yet.
No judgment. Just clarity. Knowing what needs work is the first step toward doing that work.

Is your work a business or a job? What evidence supports your answer?
Is it exit-ready? What’s the biggest gap?
Is your legal structure appropriate? What action was taken or needs to be taken?
Are you engaged with professional organizations? At what level?
Is succession planned? How complete is the plan?
Are you applying the legacy lens to decisions? Has it changed anything?
For each area, rate your progress: strong, in progress, or not yet started.
Then prioritize. What area needs the most attention going forward? Mark it. That’s where you focus next.
