This Week's Guidance
Oct 5 — 11, 2026
A week that winds down to the darkest night of the month. Monday is generous, Tuesday prickly, Wednesday looks back toward family, Saturday is for clearing out, and Sunday starts small.
This week runs down to empty, and the useful thing is to let it.
Monday is the easiest day you will get. You will probably feel more generous than usual, more willing to cook for someone, call a friend, or take care of the small household jobs you keep stepping around. Do them. Monday rewards looking after things.
Tuesday is different. Small irritations land harder, and conversations tangle. You say one thing, they hear another, and you both walk away holding a grudge neither of you meant to start. If something important needs saying, wait a day. If someone gets short with you, assume they are tired, because they probably are.
Wednesday turns your attention backward. An old photo, a song someone in your family used to sing, a habit you suddenly realize came straight from your father or your grandmother. You may find yourself thinking about where you come from more than usual. Give it some room. Call the relative you keep meaning to call, or write down a family story before it gets lost.
Thursday and Friday are the soft part of the week. Thursday wants rest and something pleasant: a long dinner, an early night, a book you enjoy. Friday is better for people. Keep the promises you made, help a friend with something practical, show up for the plan you already agreed to. Your patience is good on Friday. Spend it on someone.
Saturday is the day to plan around. It is the darkest night of the month, and most people feel it as a flat, heavy tiredness by mid-afternoon. Keep the calendar light. It is, though, an excellent day for clearing: a closet, a drawer, a desk, the pile of paper by the door. Get rid of what you are done with and leave the space empty overnight.
Sunday you will feel a little lighter and quicker to decide. Use it to choose what goes into the space you cleared. Then start small.
Clear the ground before you build on it.
The Last-Light Walk
Each evening this week, take a fifteen-minute walk as the light goes.
Leave the phone at home or in your pocket on silent. Monday through Thursday, just walk and notice one thing that has changed since last week: a tree that has turned, a garden that has gone to seed, how much earlier the streetlights come on.
Say it to yourself in one sentence. Wednesday, bring one person to mind who shaped you. A parent, grandparent, teacher, anyone. Walk with them in mind for the whole fifteen minutes.
Think of one thing you still do because of them, good or bad. Friday, walk with someone else if you can. Talk or don't. Saturday, go out after dark instead, even for five minutes.
No flashlight if it is safe. Let your eyes adjust. Notice how much you can still see. Sunday, switch to a morning walk.
Use it to decide one small thing you want to start this week, and start it the same day. The point is a short, regular appointment with the actual season, so the shorter days register in your body and not just on the clock.

Full daily guidance →This Week's Seasonal Theme
Mid-autumn. The days are losing light quickly now, and the gap between the warm afternoon and the cold night is at its widest. That swing is what makes this time of year feel unsettled: you overdress in the morning, overheat by two, and get chilled after dark. Dress in layers and take them off and put them back on without thinking about it. Your appetite is still strong, but your digestion is starting to prefer cooked food over raw. Soups, roasted squash, rice, and stewed fruit will sit better than big salads. Keep dinner early and simple this week especially. The end of the week runs low, and a heavy late meal will make Saturday's tiredness worse.
Where This Comes From
This week's guidance draws from the lunar journey across seven nakshatras, the seasonal transition, and cross-tradition patterns that align with the week's themes.
Season: Sharad (Autumn). The body is in transition — mid-autumn.
