Jupiter Opposite North Node

Overview

Jupiter opposite North Node in synastry places one partner's Jupiter 180 degrees from the other partner's North Node, which seats that same Jupiter on the South Node at the identical degree. The Jupiter person arrives carrying a finished account of how life works, and the Node person's chart says they have already lived inside one.

What each planet hands to the south end of the axis differs, and Jupiter's delivery is the hardest to see. A Moon there returns an old emotional weather. A Venus there returns an old set of preferences. Jupiter returns a cosmology: a working theory of what life rewards, what generosity costs, whether the future can be trusted with a risk. Cosmologies are difficult to notice from inside, because a cosmology is the thing you notice with.

The Western reading has Jupiter blocking the growth direction from across the chart. The Vedic reading has the preceptor of the devas watching that direction steadily and taking some of the compulsion out of Rahu's appetite.

Both readings are describing the same degrees and both are defensible, because Guru is simultaneously sitting on Ketu. Ketu is the moksha-karaka, the graha of what is finished rather than what is owed. Guru with Ketu is read toward jnana, knowledge held without hunger for its results, which is a real attainment and also an accurate description of somebody who has stopped wanting anything the future contains. The gift on this contact and the trap on it are the same object.

Attraction & Chemistry

The pull here has almost no friction in it, and the absence is the diagnostic feature. Most synastry contacts announce themselves as charge. This one announces itself as fluency.

The Jupiter person's experience is of being understood without having to build the case.
