About This Mantra
Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung is the Siri Gaitri Mantra, a powerful healing mantra from the Kundalini Yoga tradition as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Unlike most healing mantras that work primarily on the chanter, this mantra is specifically designed for sending healing energy to others at a distance. It connects the earth element with the ether element, creating a bridge between the physical and the infinite through which healing energy can travel.
How to Chant
Sit in Easy Pose with the spine straight. The hands are in a specific mudra: elbows bent, upper arms close to the ribs, forearms perpendicular to the ground with palms facing up. The eyes are closed and focused at the third eye point. Chant the mantra in a monotone or on the traditional melody.
Pronunciation Guide
Rah Mah Dah Sah / Sah Say Soh Hung. Each syllable is given equal duration and emphasis. 'Hung' has a slight nasal quality and should be held longer than the other syllables.
Benefits
The primary mantra for sending healing energy to others at a distance. Creates a healing field around both the chanter and the intended recipient. Strengthens the practitioner's own health through the act of healing others.
Graha Connection
Sun (Surya) and Moon (Chandra) are explicitly named in the mantra. The Sun provides the vital energy that powers healing, and the Moon provides the receptive, nurturing container within which healing occurs.
