About

Kaishore Guggulu is Ayurveda's premier medicine for gout and inflammatory arthritis, a condition known as Vatarakta in classical texts -- literally 'Vata in the blood.' The formula's name, 'Kaishor' (adolescent or youthful), refers to its rejuvenative properties that restore youthful flexibility and freedom of movement to inflamed, stiffened joints. The formula's construction reveals a sophisticated multi-target therapeutic strategy. Guduchi, the primary distinguishing ingredient, provides immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activity that addresses the immune dysregulation underlying inflammatory arthritis.

Indications

Gout and hyperuricemia. Inflammatory arthritis. Skin diseases with Pitta predominance including acne, boils, and abscesses. Non-healing wounds.

Key Ingredients

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Triphala (Haritaki, Bibhitaki, Amalaki), Trikatu (Shunthi, Maricha, Pippali), Vidanga (Embelia ribes), Danti mula (Baliospermum montanum root), Trivrit (Operculina turpethum), and Shuddha Guggulu (purified resin). Guduchi is the distinguishing ingredient that differentiates this from other Guggulu formulations and gives it its specific anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory character. Some formulations add Guduchi Satva (the starchy extract of fresh Guduchi stems).

Benefits

One of the most effective Ayurvedic medicines for gout and inflammatory arthritis. Reduces uric acid levels through enhanced renal excretion and reduced production. Clears Pitta-type inflammation from the blood and joints.

Cautions & Contraindications

Severe debility (the formula has mild purgative properties through Trivrit and Danti). Hyperthyroidism. Active GI bleeding. Monitor serum uric acid levels during treatment for gout. Not a replacement for acute gout management -- colchicine or NSAIDs may be needed for acute flares while Kaishore Guggulu addresses the underlying condition. Monitor thyroid function with prolonged use.
