About

Chandraprabha Vati is one of the great polyherbal-mineral formulations of classical Ayurveda, a 37-ingredient compound whose name -- 'Chandraprabha,' the lustre of the moon -- evokes the cooling, luminous quality it is intended to restore to the body. Just as moonlight is cooling, gentle, and all-pervading, this medicine is designed to bring a calm, clarifying, cooling therapeutic effect to multiple organ systems simultaneously, with a particular emphasis on the urinary and reproductive systems. The formula's architecture spans three pharmacological categories: herbal medicines, mineral bhasmas (calcined metals), and organic mineral preparations (Shilajit, Guggulu).

Indications

Urinary tract disorders including recurrent UTIs, urinary stones, dysuria, and urinary incontinence. Diabetes and pre-diabetes (as adjunctive therapy). Male reproductive health including benign prostatic hyperplasia, low sperm count, and erectile dysfunction. Female reproductive health including menstrual irregularities and leucorrhea.

Key Ingredients

An extensive formula containing 37 ingredients including: Chandraprabha (camphor) as the signature ingredient, Shilajit (mineral pitch), Guggulu (Commiphora mukul resin), Loha bhasma (purified iron calx), Vanga bhasma (purified tin calx), Triphala, Trikatu, Musta (Cyperus rotundus), Vacha (Acorus calamus), Danti (Baliospermum montanum), Chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica), Devadaru (Cedrus deodara), Haridra (turmeric), Darvi (Berberis aristata), Ela (cardamom), Twak (cinnamon), Trivrit, Vidanga, Sarjikshara (sodium bicarbonate), Yavakshara (potassium carbonate), Saindhava Lavana (rock salt), and others. The presence of mineral bhasmas (Loha, Vanga) classifies this as a Rasa Shastra (Ayurvedic mineral medicine) preparation.

Benefits

One of the most versatile compound medicines in Ayurveda. Strengthens and tones the urinary system, reducing frequency of UTIs and supporting healthy bladder function. Assists in the dissolution and prevention of urinary stones through its alkalizing minerals (Sarjikshara, Yavakshara) and lithontriptic herbs.

Cautions & Contraindications

Severe kidney failure. Known sensitivity to mineral preparations. Children under 12 years. The mineral bhasma components (Loha, Vanga) must be prepared according to strict classical protocols. Improperly prepared bhasmas can contain bioavailable heavy metals that cause toxicity. Source only from GMP-certified Ayurvedic pharmacies with documented quality control.
